Patch Notes for The Waylanders contains information regarding updates for the game which normally applies changes to various gameplay mechanics. The following patches are free and are released online for players to download for the PC via Steam.

NEW MAP: NETTLE CAVERN

As part of today’s update, we’ve added a new map with a twist. Welcome to Nettle Cavern!

Nettle Cavern is an adventurer’s playground where you can practice and experiment with new tactics. Here, you’ll be able to explore the combat potential of companions, party compositions, and Formations in The Waylanders’.

The purpose of Nettle Cavern is to provide a practice area for your party. Winning battles found in this extensive cave won’t provide gold or XP, but enemies will be waiting every time you return to the cave. As you gain experience in the game, you’ll be able to return to Nettle Cavern to try new strategies, abilities, and formations of your leveled up characters.

Nettle Cavern will be available once you have completed the quest called "Back to Life".

Keep in mind that you can save your game in Nettle Cavern. You can repeat a specific combat anytime you want. We invite you to experience new combat strategies at Nettle Cavern and share them with the community!

HOW TO PLAY: NEW TUTORIALS ADDED

We’ve added new tutorials at the beginning of the game during the mission "Journey to Inisfail". These tutorials will help players better understand certain key elements of the game, such as the Codex or the mini-map.

We have added two Codex entries in the “how to play” section to complement the new tutorials.

GAME EXPERIENCE IMPROVEMENTS


We have added autosave points every time you visit the ship to avoid having to repeat certain parts of the story whenever you experience a game crash
We have added new autosave points, triggered by completing certain important milestones in the "Back to Life" mission
We have improved game flow of the mission "Back to Life". Now, objectives are more clear and understandable

MAJOR BUG FIXED


Some users experienced a bug which freezes the game due to memory instability. This is now fixed. As memory leaks are complex, it could happen again and we are monitoring for future instances. Please contact us via Steam forum if you find this issue during your game again.

THE WAYLANDERS IS IN CONSTANT IMPROVEMENT


Many of the new features introduced in this update are previews, prototypes, and early releases of some things we haven't included in the Early Access yet. We will report new improvements soon!

KNOWN BUGS


Some users reported the enemies stand still without attacking in some situations. We are investigating this. The quick solution at this time is to save your game and reload it. Quick travelling to a different map location and coming back works too.

CRITICAL PROBLEMS FIXED

F5 previously crashed the game. Now, F5 works for quicksaving. Many thanks to the community for reporting this and suggesting the quicksave option. NOTE: quicksave is not available in combat.
Performance has been improved, providing better optimization for most PCs.
A case where players couldn't target the enemies during combat is now fixed.

 

QUESTS

Some players were not receiving the quest reward for 'Blood in the Woods' quest. This is now fixed.

 

COMBAT

Some enemies were spawning with the same 3D model, regardless of their rank. This issue has been solved and they now spawn with the right enemy appearance.
Defeated enemies don't respawn after loading your saved game.
Arrow formations: autoattack range has been adjusted. Now inflicts damage correctly.
Ranged abilities have been adjusted, including formations with ranged abilities.
Now you can use TAB for quick targeting in combat. Select the nearest enemy by pressing it.

 

INVENTORY & ITEMS

Consumable items stack properly in the inventory.
Duplicate weapons don't disappear from your inventory when you equip one of them.
Some deprecated items have been removed from the merchant & stores (runes).

 

INTERFACE

Mini-map improvements.
Map menu improvements.
Support for 21.9" screens.

 

SOUND

Abilities volume adjustment (specially Delba's abilities)

 

OTHER FIXES

CPU optimization
Minor changes in Codex menu & scrolls.
Other minor bugs fixed.

 

KNOWN BUGS


There are many important bugs which are affecting the game experience. Many of them have been reported in the Steam forum. But there is a specific one which really annoy some players. The game freezes in some situations. We've detected instability issues in the abilities screen from the menu. We are investigating this and will fix it as quick as possible. This is a priority for us.
